Ozone is a highly active form of oxygen in the form of a gas. Ozone is several hundred times stronger and more effective than chemical water treatment (such as chlorine). Ozone oxidises urea/ammonia, which is responsible for the formation of chloramines, as well as the formation of various forms of chloramines.
